This is a miniature Oakeshott Type XI single handed sword. It’s forged by hand exactly the same way a full sized piece would be, heat treated and tempered, with a tang that runs through the handle, and is peened at the end of the pommel. Such swords would have been associated with Norman soldiers.
The blade is forged from high carbon silver tool steel, and has a broad blade with a wide fuller. It has a classic "Brazil nut" type pommel, and a short, lightly curved cross guard, both forged from mild steel with a scaled antique finish.
The handle is made from oak with a leather wrap.
The blade is blunt, for display or prop use.
