1/6th Scale Late 15th Century Falchion

£180.00

This is a tiny medieval falchion sword in 1:6 scale. It's forged by hand exactly the same way a full sized piece would be, heat treated and tempered, with a tang that runs through the handle, and is peened at the end of the pommel. This piece is based on a museum piece from the Royal Armouries museum and therefore is my speculative interpretation of what the original piece may have looked like. As an “munitions grade” infantry sidearm, the pommel and guard have a forged finish.

The blade is forged from high carbon silver tool steel, and has a single edged, slightly curved blade with a spear point and a hollow grind on the spine. It has an S shaped guard, where the knuckle bow meets the pommel, and both are made from mild steel with a forged finish.

The handle has a walnut wood core, which is wrapped in thinly shaved brown leather.

The blade is blunt, but has a pointy tip so it should still be handled with care.

Materials:

High Carbon Steel, mild steel, walnut Wood, Leather.

Dimensions:

190mm / 7 1/2 inches

This piece arrives in a branded gift box.

It is a unique handmade piece, and should be handled with care. To protect it from rust, it has been coated in renaissance wax, but it is recommended to clean and oil the blade should it be handled, as finger prints may rub through and cause corrosion.
