This is a miniature talwar (or tulwar), a curved sword originating in India, inspired by a museum example of a plainer design.
The blade is hand forged from silver steel which is hardened and tempered with an edge that makes it suitable for letter opening.
The handle and guard are made from blackened mild steel and features a traditional knuckle guard and disc pommel with an all-metal handle.
