1/6 Scale Miniature Damascus Arming Sword
This is a tiny medieval arming sword in 1:6 scale. It's forged by hand exactly the same way a full sized piece would be, heat treated and tempered, with a tang that runs through the handle, and is peened at the end of the pommel. This piece has a damascus blade where a high layered pattern has been twisted to give a shimmering effect.
The blade is based on an Oakeshott Type XIV, with a relatively short, wide blade that tapers sharply and has a fuller running down part of the blade. It has a wheel style pommel, and a slim crossguard , made from brass.
The handle is walnut burl, which is fluted and inlaid with twisted brass wire, that follows the rotation of the damascus pattern in the blade.
The blade is not particularly sharp but has a pointy tip and would worK as a letter opener.
Materials:
Damascus steel, brass, walnut burl .
Dimensions:
135mm / 5 inches

It is a unique handmade piece, and should be handled with care. To protect it from rust, it has been coated in renaissance wax, but it is recommended to clean and oil the blade should it be handled, as finger prints may rub through and cause corrosion.
