This is a tiny medieval poleaxe in 1:6 scale. It consists of 5 distinct components; the haft, an axe-head with a hammer head on the reverse, a top spike, a butt “spike” and a pair of steel langettes to secure it all together, with rivets.
The haft is made from oiled oak, while the head and top spike are forged from high carbon spring steel. The langettes, butt-spike and rivets are made from mild steel.
The axe head a slight edge, but is not razor sharp and would be a bit unwieldy as a letter opener, however the top spike is pointy and the hammer will deliver a genuine bonk! The butt-spike is rounded at the tip, as these were historically more likely to be used as a counterweight than to deliver a piercing blow, although it would still be effective against a downed opponent.
