Miniature Viking Set: Sword, Seax, Shield and Scabbard

£500.00

Here is a battle ready bundle for a tiny Viking hero!

Each item is hand made and unique.

The sword is just over 6 inches in length with an edged blade suitable for letter opening. The blade is hand forged high carbon steel with a fuller. The pommel and guard are made from mild steel and the latter has etched patterns. The handle is oak with cotton risers and a leather wrap. The scabbard is a laminate of linen, wood, cotton risers and leather, with a steel chape.

The Seax knife is 2 ½ inches and also edged, with a rough forged finish. The handle is made of bog oak, with tegu nut (aka vegan ivory) and two mild steel bolsters. The scabbard is also fabric, wood and leather with a riveted brass rim and brass rings to connect to a belt.

It is recommended not to store the blades with the scabbard for long periods as this can encourage rust.

The shield is made of two layers of tiny birch planks, laid in opposing directions and glued together. It is roughly 4” in diameter. The boss is forged from mild steel and secured by being riveted through the wood of the shield with tiny handmade nails, as is the oak handle, two belt hoops and a leather rim. Finally the shield face has been hand painted with a runic inspired Ouroboros serpent
