The blade is hand forged from high carbon steel, while the fittings are shaped from brass. The cane itself is carved from solid ebony wood, polished and treated with tung oil.
Total length while sheathed is 5 inches. The sword component is 4 1/2 inches. The blade is unsharpened but has a pointed tip and should be handled with care. Please be aware that Ebony can be a brittle wood and is very thin, so this piece should be handled with care. Because the blade is single edged, there is a specific way round to which the sword enters the scabbard, so drawing and sheathing the blade should be done gently.
