1/6 Miniature Castilian style rapier
This is a tiny medieval falchion sword in 1:6 scale. It's forged by hand exactly the same way a full sized piece would be, heat treated and tempered, with a tang that runs through the handle, and is peened at the end of the pommel. This piece is based on a museum piece and therefore is my speculative interpretation of what the original piece may have looked like. To honour the corroded relic state of the piece it was based on, I have left surfaces of the blade with a pitted, forged finish, as are the pommel and guard.
The blade is forged from high carbon silver tool steel, and has a single edged, slightly curved blade with a clip point and a fuller on the spine. It has a very pronounced pear style pommel, and a crossguard with teardrop quillions, made from mild steel with a forged finish.
The handle has a walnut wood core, which is wrapped in thinly shaved blue leather.
The blade is blunt, but has a pointy tip and due to the intentional nicks and scratches it should still be handled with care.
Materials:
High Carbon Steel, mild steel, walnut Wood, Leather.
Dimensions:
190mm / 7 1/2 inches
Disclaimer:
These items are primarily for display purposes and even if listed as blunt, are not toys and should be handled with care. They should not be given to children, or small animals. By purchasing these items, you agree that you are over 18, responsible and liable for any injury that might result from misuse of these items.
This piece arrives in a branded gift box.
It is a unique handmade piece, and should be handled with care. To protect it from rust, it has been coated in renaissance wax, but it is recommended to clean and oil the blade should it be handled, as finger prints may rub through and cause corrosion.
