This is a tiny handforged Katana, comprised numerous components as a full sized version would be!
The blade is forged from high carbon silver tool steel, and has a curved, water quenched blade with the distinctive geometry. There is an etched “hamon” effect. It has a lotus root inspired tsuba made from steel, and a fuchi, sepoa and habaki made from bronze. A Brass menuki peg in the handle can be removed, allowing the blade and handled to be dissembled, as a full sized version should.
The handle has a walnut wood core, coated in leather, and wrapped in silk. There are two copper menuki under the sill, with a bronze kashira (pommel) capping the end of the handle. This piece does not include a saya (scabbard).
The blade is edged, although not razor sharp, but it would still function as a letter opener and should be handled with care.
